Electric Cantilever Sliding Gates

Picture
Electric cantilever sliding gates remove the need for tracking along the length of the opening. A cantilever gate is suspended over the entrance with horizontal posts. Cantilever gates are quieter than tracked gates and reduce the need to keep the tracking clear of debris.  However due to the nature of the cantilever design, an additional section of gate is required to 'hang' over the guides, often behind a wall or hedge perimeter. This means that additional room is needed beside the gateway than a tracked version and may prevent you from choosing this option.  Unlike the tracked sliding gate, full use of the driveway can be kept during the installation period as no track is needed accross the driveway.  The steel posts are cemented in place at each end of the complete unit.
We don't recommend cantilever gates for highly exposed, windy locations.  If your property is in such a location we would recommend a tracked sliding gate instead.

Electric Sliding Gates - Tracked

Electric Tracked Sliding Gates are a straightforward and economical way of installing sliding gates. A tracked gate will consist of two main elements.  Embedded in the ground is a length of metal rail spanning the entrance. The gate is guided along the track using wheels mounted along its base. The tracking on the gate needs to be kept clear from debris which could impair the smooth operation of your gate.   If you are considering having a tracked sliding gate installed, remember that the ground track will need to be concreted into the ground accross the width of your driveway and the concrete left to harden off for at least 7 days without being driven over, so provisions will need to be made for parking vehicles during this period.  There are steel posts at each end of the gate which need to be cemented in place.  The track and posts are all integral to the gate, and delivered in one complete unit.  This is what makes all our electric gates unique.
